Brief Bio - Sung Keun Lee

Sung Keun Lee is a professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Seoul National University, Korea. He obtained Ph.D. in Geological and Environmental Sciences in 2002 with Ph.D. minor in Chemistry and an M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University under the guidance of Prof. Jonathan Stebbins. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Geology (with a Materials Science Minor) from Seoul National University. He was a Carnegie Postdoctoral Fellow at Carnegie Institution of Washington from 2002 to 2004. He is interested in researching the structure-property relations of diverse earth materials using solid-state NMR, synchrotron inelastic X-rays, and theoretical analyses with the aim to better understand the processes in the Earth’s surfaces and planetary interiors.
