High pressure Synthesis Facility: 1100 ton Multi-anvil press.
We synthesize high pressure-samples using 1100 ton multi-anvil press in the PI’s laboratory. The press is mainly used for the synthesis of compressed oxide glasses ~ 14 GPa and ~ 2200 K quenched from melts. As for the crystalline materials at low temperature, synthesis at high pressure up to 25 GPa is feasible.
