What we do

G2MAT Lab: From Nuclear Spins to Planetary Evolution

Structures and properties of disordered materials (thin films, glasses & energy materials)

Inputs from ab initio caluclations, solid-state NMR, and synchrotron x-ray scattering enable us to quantify the detailed atomic structures of diverse disorded materials both at ambient and high pressure, establishing their structure-proerty relations. Those materials characterized in the SK Lee lab. include energy materials (zeolites, inorganic-organic hybrid perovskite) (Lee J et al. Chem. Mater 2021; Kim H et al. Nature Communication 2020; Kim H and Lee SK Am. Min. 2014), quasicrystals (Kwon et al. Acta Materialia 2022), metastable oxyhydroxides (Kim H et al. Am Min 2021), and clay minerals (Lee and Weiss, Am Mim 2008; Lee et al. Chem Mater. 2003), Amorphous oxide thin films (Lee et al. J. Phys. Chem. Letts, 2018; Sci. Report 2014; Phys. Rev.
